Sierra Vista School

Farm Fresh For Kids just completed its four-week program donating produce to needy children at Sierra Vista Elementary School. Most of the children attending this school are living in poverty, and more that 90% are eligible for free or reduced price lunches. The children we gave farm produce to were the ones without stable addresses, who were mostly living in motels or staying at a friend's house.

Anyway, throughout September, we were able to donate several hundred dollars of farm fresh produce to around 30-40 children without stable homes. The fresh Workman Farms produce was delivered along with a package provided by the Food Bank. This new program was definitely successful (judging not least by the 1st grade students' thank you notes!) and is something we plan on continuing next year.
